Why Volunteer
What you get out of it
Volunteering here is not free labour with a t-shirt. It is structured, supported, and documented.
Real skills, documented
Community health outreach, event logistics, health communication, and data collection — with a certificate recording your hours and role.
A community, not a mailing list
You will be placed on a team with survivors, health workers, and other volunteers who stay in touch beyond the event day.
Direct impact you can see
Volunteers are the reason someone gets screened who otherwise would not have. You see that happen in person.
Training before you start
Every volunteer is briefed on our approach, consent, privacy, and how to talk about cancer without causing fear.
Requirements
What we ask of you
- 18 years or older (16+ welcome on youth programmes with guardian consent)
- Available for at least one outreach day per quarter
- Willing to complete our short orientation before your first activity
- Respect for the privacy and dignity of everyone we serve

- 2We review it and respond by email — usually within a week.
- 3If accepted, you complete a short orientation.
- 4You join your team on outreach day and log your hours.
- 5We send your certificate by email afterwards.

Join field teams taking cancer awareness and early-detection information into communities across Borno State.

Walk alongside patients and caregivers — offering emotional support, information, and connection to our psychological programmes.

Help collect, clean, and analyse screening and outreach data so our programmes stay evidence-led and measurable.

Create posts, graphics, video, and written content that amplify survivor stories and our awareness campaigns.
